In (re)collecting journey: une courtepointe éphémère, five performers from different generations retrace a year-long journey through various public spaces in Montreal. Over the course of the seasons, they inhabited indoor and outdoor environments through movement, engaging with a range of public sites and places of passage. Their responsive bodies become instruments of attention, revealing the memories, relationships to visibility, and relational dynamics embedded in these environments.
Onstage, gestures, words, sensations, and memories converge in a shifting composition. The performers choose the order of the sequences, shaping the dramaturgy live. Through sensors, their movements trigger vocal and musical fragments, which they arrange in real time. Together, they weave a unique, ephemeral quilt that is reassembled with every performance.
At the intersection of dance, storytelling, and digital arts, (re)collecting journey offers a sensory passage through the places that silently shape our ways of being, remembering, and relating to one another.
Caroline Laurin-Beaucage continues her inquiry by positioning the body as a compass, one that enables us to examine our affects and representations and, through its sensitivity, better understand the worlds we move through.
