 A choreography of suspension, REBO(U)ND is an architectural video projection unveiling and magnifying bodies on the verge of escaping gravity. A project by choreographer Caroline Laurin-Beaucage in collaboration with Montréal Danse, Lorganisme and Hub Studio, the work was made possible through the exceptional support of the Canada Council for the Arts as part of the New Chapter Initiative. It captures the ephemeral instant when the performer floats—between momentum and falling, between freedom and imbalance—when the body seems to defy space and time.

Projected onto architectural surfaces, REBO(U)ND is accessible to all, bringing dance out of theatres and studios into public space. Video mapping plays with perception, disrupting notions of time, gravity, scale and space—whether for a fleeting moment or extended contemplation. Both visual and immersive, REBO(U)ND is a vibrant homage to dance, evoking the sensations of release and freedom that the art form can generate.

GROUND + REBO(U)ND are among the 200 exceptional projects supported through the Canada Council for the Arts’ New Chapter Initiative. Through this $35M initiative, the Council supports the creation and sharing of the arts in communities across Canada.
