In a timeless proposition, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage calls into question our relationship with the environment, with one another, and with our ability to adapt in the face of climatic disruption.
Whether on stage or in public spaces, two performers inhabit clear vivariums that slowly flood with water. Stripped bare of all excess, they become sensitive beings in a perpetually shifting experiment: as their space shifts, their bodies adapt, resist, and invent new ways of coexisting.
Water—an ever more endangered life-source—becomes paradoxical here: abundant yet scarce, a refuge yet a constraint. The performers' journey, steeped in intimacy, tenacity, and empathy, lays bare the fragility of our balances.
How far can we stretch our capacity to adapt? What endures when all our bearings have vanished?
Caught between resistance and transformation, the work confronts us with our own fragility and our shared humanity. While choreography pulses at its core, each venue transforms its perception: temperature and atmosphere envelop both bodies and audiences, adding ever more immersive, sensory layers to the piece.
